Day and Night

Last night I acquired four more bags of belongings that I had completely forgotten I even owned (save a quilt my great-grandmother made). I can't see my floor.

I really like keeping things, but I hate having them.

I want to see if I can consolidate my life into a few boxes by August. Owning pointless shit makes me feel disoriented somehow.

Drinking Sand

My Firefox homepage is the Theatre section of the New York Times website. I did this because I'm a Theatre student and I always felt like I didn't know enough about Theatre and this site allows me to expand my vocabulary by solely reading headlines.

Yesterday, I read an article (which I rarely do) called "Liberal Views Dominate Footlights." It's all about how there are zero political plays being produced with conservative viewpoints. The author of the article, Patricia Cohen, interviewed a number of artistic directors and literary managers of regional theaters and she found that it wasn't that they aren't being produced; they aren't being written (or at least, submitted for production).

It's one of those things where it's so simple, I can't believe I didn't realize it was going on. I don't really have anything to say on this, I just can't stop thinking about it.
